Volunteering

Get Involved — Volunteer!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help is needed! Complete the Volunteer Interest form and we will be in touch with you.

Volunteer requirements

While none of our events require experience, there are requirements set by the district for anyone volunteering in our schools. Please allow two weeks for your application to be processed prior to when you would like to volunteer.

"The District encourages and appreciates the involvement of community members and parents who volunteer in our schools. As the safety of students is of primary importance, the following procedures are required for processing volunteer requests.

A completed volunteer application must be submitted to the school administrator.

The volunteer will be required to complete the volunteer criminal history verification process and receive final approval from the Human Resources Department prior to beginning their volunteer service.

Upon successful completion of these requirements and review of the volunteer handbook, the applicant may begin their volunteer duties."

Work Room Workshops

Do you want to help your child's teacher, but you don't know how to use the machines in the work room? Come learn from Volunteer Coordinator, Crystal Geiger! She will explain how to use the copy machine, laminator, book binding machine, die cut machine, etc. October workshops will be held Friday, October 20th from 8-9am and Friday, October 27th from 1-2pm.  Space is limited with only 10 spots in each workshop! RSVP to Crystal with your interests and preferred date at crystal@crystals-corner.com.

Library volunteers

Ms. Moreland, who runs the library and technology classes, is looking for volunteers to help her on Wednesdays. She could use 1-2 volunteers on Wednesdays from 8:30-10:00 and from 12:30-1:30. Her Wednesday consists mostly of 5th/6th grade classes and shelving. Her ideal volunteer would feel comfortable helping our older students keep on task and be respectful (especially in regard to noise levels) within the library. Contact Ms. Moreland at morelanl@hsd.k12.or.us with your availability!
